Meaning, you could spend money you don’t actually have, then pay it off later.īut with Chime, the only way to spend money usi mg the “Visa Credit Card” is to transfer funds via your SPENDING balance?! What? So, how are the companies that track and update your credit score allowing a card to act like a CC, but really it’s just a debit card labeled as a Visa CC? I’ve tried doing researchĪnd still haven’t gotten any further into figuring out how they can “get away” with this?īy that, I mean how is it possible to offer a Card that acts exactly like a debit card, but can label it as Visa Credit Card, and furthermore allowing us to BUILD our credit through this?ĪFAIK, the Credit Builder Card cannot be used to make a purchase like a regular Credit Card would. I also own a Credit Builder Card, and have been using it until I realized WAIT, wtf is this actually doing for me and HOW? ![]() As a disclaimer, I am an active Chime member and use them as my primary banking source for over 2 years now.
